Thank you so much Coleen Liebsch and PS Publishing for arranging my first ever Skype with schoolchildren! I got to read my latest Zeke and Zak book and answer questions with 4th graders in Hovan, SD. They seemed to love the story (illustrated by Terry C Wise ) and best of all, they each got a free copy from the Books 4Kids Program! 10 September 2016 Lenora spent in beautiful Elizabethtown, Kentucky at the Via Colori® Street Painting Festival in support of theFoster Children of New Beginnings Foundations. She and a couple of her writing friends, Donia Lawson and Martha West, had a great time meeting and greeting people from Elizabethtown and around. Lots of fun for a great cause! *Psst... are you looking for a wonderful romance? Pop on over to Donia's page! Maybe you'll find the perfect title (she's got 3!) to enjoy on a cold night by a warm fire with a bit of hot tea... And if you're looking for a wonderful, faith-based little story for you little one, check out Martha West's adorable 'Run, Run Fast As You Can!' It's a nifty little take on the classic 'Gingerbread Man' story. |

And they're off!

4 May 2016
The Kindergarten and First Grade children of Howevalley Elementary School, Cecilia, KY got a special treat when Lenora visited their school to read her book, My First Saturday in May. And it seems she arrived in the nick of time, too. Because the Kentucky Derby is sort of a BIG deal in Kentucky! And that's why Lenora wrote a book about it so children (and maybe their moms and dads) could learn about the history of the famous equestrian race and all the people who work with the horses to make the a reality. To wrap up the day, she donated a book to the Howevalley Elementary School Library. And much to her pleasure, many local teachers have purchased the book to used for their Kentucky Derby Day activities next year. |
Lenora Takes Time to Read...
When writing books for children it's important to really know your audience which is why Lenora loves getting to get out there to be with and read directly to her target audience...
18 February 2016 Lenora spent the day at her 'old stomping ground'... Helmwood Heights Elementary where she got to read some of her stories! She even was able to fill out some orders for children in the 1st through 5th grades so they can enjoy her work again and again. Of the event Lenora said, "It warms my heart to see students excited about reading and I always love seeing old friends. I can't thank Librarian, Lisa Webb Haycraft and her assistant, Mary Beth Meek enough for making me feel so welcomed and handling details!" |
